The JORVIK Viking Festival is a long-established festival in York, celebrating the Viking heritage. The Festival sees hundreds of Vikings descend on the city and demonstrate battle-drills and training routines. The city is also treated to a range of public events including lectures, arts & crafts, encampments, river events, saga-telling, and full-scale battle re-enactments. Jorvik Viking Festival is FREE. Some charges apply for some activities and entrance to the Jorvik Viking Centre. This is a finale event not to be missed! See the magnificent torchlit Viking procession! Behold the final battle between clashing Viking war bands and the spectacular long ship burning when it receives the body of a fallen warrior! Marvel at manifestations of Norse mythology engulfed in flames and wonder at fire juggling and the amazing firework display!
