Need Income Tax Assistance?
Retirees needing assistance in filing their 2012 U. S. Income Tax should contact the Retiree Activities Office (RAO) for details and appointment. Note! (The Base Legal Office will be unable to provide assistance this year due to the loss of one of their tax assistants.) The RAO now has a Certified, Volunteer Income Tax Assistant (VITA) who will help you. Call the RAO at 01480843364 on Tuesdays from 1030-1430 hours or call Rex Keegan ( RAO Director) at 01733210193 Monday, Thursday or Friday 1000-1400 HRS. Answer phones are. Answer phones available at both numbers. Please be advised that our tax assistant will not be available from 5-20 March 2012. This service is provided free of any charge.

New Access Control System/LACS Registration
Registration for the new Installation Access Control System (IACS) is now in progress at the RAF Alconbury Comm. Center, Building 511 from Monday-Friday at 0800-1700 hours and at the Security Police Pass and Registration, Building 344 at RAF Molesworth, from Monday-Friday at 0800-1600 Hours. All retired military members and dependants with U.S. Government ID cards are required to register. Appointments are not necessary;simply stop in with your ID cards and dependants the next time you visit the base.
Registration is required for all persons authorized to access USAFE military installations and will include taking photos and fingerprints of each person. New ID cards will not be issued for this registration. The Visitor Control Center at RAF Alconbury will be available to provide this action also, from 1400 to 2000 Hours, Monday – Friday.
Office Hours
The Retiree Activities Office will only be open on Tuesdays from 1030-1430 Hrs. after 1 January, 2012. This is because we do not have enough volunteers to keep it open beyond one day per week. Hence, I need some more volunteers from out there to get the office back to a regular schedule. We would love to have more volunteers.
The Good News is, we just received a 3.6% pay rise in benefits (Retiree Pay, Social Security and Annuity) so look for those increases on your next pay dates.
